Will there be a pledge manager after the campaign?

Yes! We will be using Backerkit for our pledge manager so you can customize your order after the campaign ends. Everything that is available during the campaign will be available on Backerkit, but quantities will be limited on certain products depending how many sell during the campaign. The best way to ensure you get what you want is to choose your add-ons with your pledge here on Kickstarter.

Is the turnaround time really that short?

Yes! Our goal is to have 3 Kickstarter campaigns this year, and we have been working on this book for months to get it completed before launch. The only delays are how fast you complete your survey, Kickstarter and Backerkit’s payment processing, and printing time. Our pledge manager is already set up, and we have pre-booked printing time.

What if I am late completing my backer survey?

We really recommend that you keep up to date with the Kickstarter updates and Backerkit emails, and plan for a fast turnaround time if you want to get your order with the main fulfillment, as we will be sticking to our dates.

Any late orders that miss the fulfillment will be addressed on an individual basis and will potentially be subject to increased shipping fees. Refunds will not be provided for missed deadlines and any partial payments will be converted to project donations unless you get in touch with us and complete your order.

We are happy to work with you to get your rewards sent out because we want you to have fun with them, but we won’t delay the other backers for you.

How does shipping work?

We will be billing for shipping later in the pledge manager. Once the Backerkit surveys go out you will have approximately 2 weeks to complete them, then we will send off the list of paid backers for an initial shipping quote. We average the shipping costs by region (CAN, USA, INT) and choose a flat-rate for each region, balancing the costs between them so everyone gets charged a reasonable amount. In our previous campaign this worked out to be $25 for USA and CAN, and $35 everywhere else. Shipping rates constantly change so use these are guidelines only.

Once shipping fees are added we will charge credit cards again for the fees. Once we have given a reasonable amount of time (typically a week or so) we will export the list of final backers and send it to the shipper so they can begin kitting packages and sending out pledges.

NOTE: With the flat-rate shipping, it benefits you to choose more add-ons then you typically might. If your only add-on is less than the shipping cost, you should consider adding more or removing it to get the best deal.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
